In Memoriam: Dr Terence J. Fay, SJ (1932-2021) 

Fr. Fay, a Jesuit priest, served the CCHA for 35 years. He is mourned by his parishioners––many in the Canadian Filipino and Chinese communities––and by his colleagues in the CCHA.

Fr. Jackman leaves behind a lifetime of service and support to causes in Canada and beyond. His funeral will be livestreamed on Thursday, June 24 at 11 AM ET.

Program for CCHA Annual General Meeting and One Day Conference – June 3, 2021

There is no cost to join our conference on June 3, but you will be asked to “register” to confirm your intention to attend. A separate email with a registration link will soon be circulated. At present, our plan is to hold a one-day conference. This will be finalized in the coming weeks after our call for papers closes.

Exploring Collective Memory: Irish Famine and the Canadian Experience

Spearheaded by Professor Marie McAndrew and Université de Montréal, Exploring Collective Memory is a teacher training film recovered from the archives that follows English and French student teachers on an educational visit to Grosse-Île and the Irish Memorial National Historic Site in Quebec to learn about the Famine Irish migration to Canada in 1847.
