The CCHA is saddened by the passing of the Holy Father Pope Francis on Easter Monday. In his 12 years as Pope, Francis provided invaluable moral leadership on a myriad of global issues affecting Catholics and non-Catholics alike. For Canadians, his historic 2022 apology for the Church’s role in the Canadian residential school system was particularly important. Our association honours his legacy as a global ambassador for peace and tolerance and prays for the repose of his soul.
