On behalf of the Canadian Catholic Historical Association, I would like to say thank you to all those who contributed to the joint conference with the American Catholic Historical Association in Toronto in April 2011, and to the Canadian Catholic Historical Association Conference at the University of New Brunswick and St Thomas University in Fredericton at the end of May 2011.
Then I would like to invite you to read the Call for Papers for the Canadian Catholic Historical Association May 28 and 29, 2012 meeting in Waterloo Ontario. Please let me know if you would like to present a paper, or if you have an idea for a speaker or a session. Watch the website in January and February 2012 for information on early registration, flights and accommodation.
Please circulate the Kenney prize information in this bulletin to history students and encourage them to apply.
In 2012 the Canadian Catholic Historical Association will be presenting the Clerk Award. Please check the announcement on the Clerk Award and forward nominations.
Last, on a personal note, I would like to thank those who contribute to Catholic history by maintaining and restoring historic churches and cemeteries. This August I had the pleasure of visiting St Columbkille’s Church in Uptergrove, Ontario and St Joseph’s Church at Black River, Ontario, once the home parishes of my Kennedy great grandparents.
